1/72 Operations set A preview – 1/200 Stairs truck

Hello everyone,

We are having quite the weather over here, the heat is making things a bit harder than usual, I can even say that the aluminum screws that hold the resin tray on the printer are getting stuck on it after a few hours printing.
Nevertheless, I am progressing as much as I can, I have finished the third set of figures to be released, I am still however, testing the 1/144 and 1/200 versions which I will share next weekend.

Besides the 1/200 Commander FMC15i cargo loader, there will also be a 1/200 version of the stairs truck TLD ABS1740. The model went through some modifications from the old 1/144 release, mainly for the tube-rod system, modifications that will also be icorporated into the 1/144 model. These tubes and rods do not fit too snug between each other on purpose, so that the rod can be painted metallic and still have a very nice fitting without the paint being peeled off. This required several tests, and it is working nicely.

Maximum door sill height is approximately 28mm, which would be around 5600mm in the real world, allowing it to reach the doors of widebodies. The minimum height is 19mm, around 3800mm in real life size, however, it can be modified to fit smaller narrowbodies.

I am also starting to paint the figures of these new sets in order to have some photos for the product pages. I would like to update the product thumbnails with finished versions of the models to make things clearer and to give the customer an idea on how it looks once finished.

As you can see, this new figure set implies an arrival scene where two workers are placing the safety cones, two are placing the chocks, one is inspecting the aircraft with a flashlight (engine) and another one is placing the ladder for the GPU connection. These figures were design with the idea that they could be used for narrowbody as well as widebodies, so that the arm of the figure placing the chock can still be behind the wheel no matter the size of it.
A modification on the ladder had to be done, due printing reasons, the middle step was removed and a fiting point was made for it at each side of the ladder wall, the step for the ladder is now a separate part.

I will take my time to paint and prepare finished models of these new items for the website, in fact, that is how I want the catalog to be rather than showing the contents of the set directly on the thumbnail.

The 1/144 and 1/200 figures of this set will also come along nicely, I just need a bit more of fine tuning and I will be ready to present them next week.

Until then, take care everyone!
Best wishes,
Guillem
